Mamoru Ichiyo (一葉マモル) is a main character in Zanki Zero: Last Beginning. His title is Doctor of Greed (強欲の医者 gōyoku no isha).
In the Japanese dub he is voiced by Masaya Matsukaze (child Mamoru) and Hiroaki Hirata (adult Mamoru). In the English dub he is voiced by Mark Whitten.

History
Before Humanity's Collapse
Mamoru was a medical intern, meaning that he has completed medical school but does not yet have a full license to practice medicine. His goal was to become a pediatrician.
Personality
Mamoru is a large and muscular man with a bodybuilder's physique, the result of working out as a hobby. He's intellectual, peaceful, easy-going, and a gentleman. He casually mentions the word love often, and likes to make a heart shape with his fingers while doing so. Mamoru hopes to become a pediatrician in the future, and while on the island acts as the survivors' doctor, trying to care for their health and wellbeing. Mamoru's favourite food is spicy dishes, he dislikes dairy, and he is allergic to bananas.
Name Etymology
Mamoru's surname, Ichiyo (一葉) uses the kanji for "ichi" (一) meaning "one", and "yo" (葉) meaning "leaf". His first name Mamoru (マモル) is written in katakana so the kanji reading of his name is unknown.
